The Volkswagen Tiguan is small Crossover Utility Vehicle manufactured by the German carmaker Auto 5000. This is developed on the PQ35 platform that belongs to the Volkswagen Golf. Production of this car started in 2007 and initially all Tiguan models were powered by 4-cylinder engine.
The Volkswagen Tiguan was exposed to public at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in 2006 as a concept car. The production version of Volkswagen Tiguan was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007, launched as a 2008 model in some of the global markets, and a 2009 model in North America.
The Volkswagen Tiguan is currently produced in two body styles and 3 specification levels:
• Tiguan Trend & Fun,
• Tiguan Track & Field, and
• Tiguan Sport & Style.

The Tiguan Track & Field variant is packed with “Comfort seats” that has adaptable lumbar support.
In 2007, Volkswagen exposed the Tiguan HY MOTION at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum in China. The HY MOTION is motorized with the help of a hydrogen fuel cell.
The fuel cell generates 80 kW of power, while the electric motor can produce 100 kW. With these power sources, the top speed of Tiguan HY.MOTION is 150 km/hr and it can accelerate to 100 km/hr in only 14 seconds. Coming to the battery used in the car, a lithium-ion battery produces power levels of up to 22 kW.
